The Mandeville School - Values Hall Mural

The Mandeville School wanted a solution to cover up the tired looking panelled wall in their hall.
After an initial meeting and consultation, it was decided that the hall needed an impressive statement. We set about creating a giant mural that endorsed the schools values; The 6 Rs.
The design featured a re-imagining of the school logo. This created in 3d and rendered at an angle that added a sense of scale and realism. The school name was also rendered in 3d to give the name that extra dimension, giving the impression that this was a huge physical sign standing in relief to wall.
The most important aspect of the design was the integration of the 6Rs, Risk-Taking, Respectful, Responsible, Reflective, Resourceful and Resilient. These were set out in such a way that the lighting beams and spotlight rigs didn't interfere with the legibility of the text. The 6Rs also included a set of statements relating directly to each of the Rs.
The overall design successfully disguised the old tile texture and we even reduced the appearance of the wall mounted pipe-work by wrapping them with the design, rendering them almost invisible.
The school now have an exciting and vibrant hall centrepiece that is a constant endorsement of the schools values.
